Geriatric Medicine Program

The Geriatric Medicine Program at the University of Cincinnati, the focal point for geriatric education, research, and clinical services, is a free-standing center within the College of Medicine.

We are a resource for all departments of the College of Medicine and other entities of the medical center working collaboratively to enhance and develop curriculum, clinical services, and research activities.

The Geriatric Medicine Program works closely with numerous community agencies and long-term care facilities. These internal and external affiliations make for valuable resources for the education and training of our undergraduate medical students, residents, and fellows in both geriatric medicine and geriatric psychiatry.

These resources also provide practice sites for our faculty and opportunities for joint research and co-sponsorship of workshops and seminars.

Staff and faculty devote significant time and expertise to community service in such capacities as consultants, board and committee members, and staff educators.

Education

To address the healthcare needs of older adults, the UC Geriatric Medicine Program works to establish innovative training programs for medical students, physicians-in-training, and practicing physicians.

Through the sharing of our expertise, we seek to discover the very best practices and treatments for older adults in our community.
